Brian and Sally Oxley
Once while visiting Tennessee, I spent a wonderful day at the Storytellers Museum and Hideaway Farm in Bon Aqua. This farm was once owned by Johnny Cash and was the place where he could retreat from his public life. It is now owned by Brian and Sally Oxley, a Christian couple who are preserving the spiritual legacy that it represents. Through the many ups and downs of Johnny Cash’s spiritual life, he always returned to his faith in God, anchored in the Scriptures.
At the time of this interview, Brian and Sally also owned the home near Nashville where Johnny Cash’s parents lived across the street from their son. Johnny’s mother was a woman of prayer and the house was always a place where troubled souls could go for spiritual guidance. Known as the Mama Cash house, our FIRST PERSON interview took place in this home which is such a special place. Brian and Sally have since sold the Mama Cash House, but still own and operate the farm.
