Someone told me about the amazing story of a young pastor in Oklahoma City who had endured many difficulties but persevered with God’s help. I learned that his name was Herbert Cooper and that he had written a book to encourage others who were overcoming a dysfunctional childhood to look to God for help and hope. This week on FIRST PERSON, you’ll hear Herbert Cooper’s story.
He is the senior pastor of People’s Church in Oklahoma City and his book is titled, BUT GOD, and it is summed up in the words “but God changes everything”. He says that when you stop saying, “but I”, and start saying “but God”, everything changes.
