Maina Mwaura
There are few people who had a greater impact on this generation of Christian leaders than the beloved Dr. Howard Hendricks (1924-2013). As a long-time professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, “Prof”, as he was known to his students, taught both in and out of the classroom. He mentored such leaders as Joe Stowell, Tony Evans, Chip Ingram, Crawford Loritts, and Gene Getz.
This week on FIRST PERSON, we honor the memory of Dr. Hendricks by talking with two men– one who knew personally as a friend and mentor, and one who studied his life through interviews with many people, including Jeanne Hendricks, wife of Howard Hendricks. Our first guest is Maina Mwaura, a journalist and the author of THE INFLUENTIAL MENTOR (Moody) who will tell of his research into what made Dr. Hendricks such a great mentor. Our second guest is Dr. Joe Stowell, one of many leaders influenced and equipped by Dr. Hendricks for effective ministry.
You will find Maina’s book, THE INFLUENTIAL MENTOR, here.
