An interesting book came to my attention recently, written by a man who has had over 30 years of experience doing development and humanitarian work in many countries. His name is Dr. Phil McDonald and the lessons he has learned about what works and what doesn’t work are invaluable. One of the main lessons is that handouts create dependency and ultimately destroy personal dignity.
This week on FIRST PERSON, you’ll meet Phil, a follower of Christ, whose family has served right alongside him. In fact in addition to sharing what he has learned, Phil tells many stories of the adventures his family has experienced while living a global life.
Phil McDonald is President of Leader Empowerment And Development, Inc. And after listening to this week’s interview, if you would like to hear even more stories and lessons, look for Phil’s book, UNREAL; Adventures of a Family’s Global Life.
And coming up next month on FIRST PERSON, you’ll meet Phil’s wife, Rebecca (Becky) McDonald who works to overcome sexual trafficking and abuse.
NEXT WEEK: Annette Hubbell, author of ETERNITY THROUGH THE REARVIEW MIRROR
