Thanksgiving is certainly an important and well-loved American holiday and we have built many traditions around the story of the pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. But do we have a true picture of what took place at that first celebration, and what can we learn from the pilgrims that guide us spiritually today?
On this week’s FIRST PERSON, you’ll meet Dr. Tracy McKenzie, the author The First Thanksgiving, and professor and chair of the Department of History at Wheaton College in Illinois. In our conversation, Dr. McKenzie will reflect on the meaning of the past for present day living.
Dr. McKenizie has a terrific blog for more on this topic and much more about history. It’s found here.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from all of us at FIRST PERSON!
